24 OctChalk One Up for the Home Team

I normally don’t post on local news, but this is a story that our entire country can relate to.

This week, Butler County, Ohio Sheriff Richard Jones, County Commissioner Mike Fox and State Rep Curtney Combs (R) Hamilton, announced that they will be racking down on illegal aliens residing in the county. New laws are being drafted, new rules are being put in place for employer’s who might hire these imposters, and all jail inmates will be required to declare citizenship. People found to be illegal immigrants may be deported.

It was also announced that in the last year over 1 million dollars has been spent husing illegal alien, and they intent to send the bill to the Federal Government for this. Maybe if enough local governments climb on board with this tactic, maybe something will get done. It is obvious to me that the only people in this country who do not want change at the border are those at the top who can do something about it.

24 OctMy Links Page

In an attempt to keep my blog from becomeing too cluttered, I have moved all text link exchanges to the Bradsblog Link Exchange Page. For now, I am leaving the Button links in the sidebar. I am also adding a descriptor after each link, as long as I have the info. If I already have a link exchange with you and you would like to added a description, post it in the comments ON THAT PAGE!!! Thanks for your understanding.

22 OctPayPal Dispute Resolution

Paypal Dispute Photo

I have never had a problem with Paypal, because they provide a free sevice to people who shop and do business online all over the world. I never thought much of their dispute resolution program until recently – when I needed it.

I had arranged to sell some custom made Stamp Pad organizers on one of my websites, www.stampingallery.com, and he would drop ship from his location (in Canada). I had made a couple of sales, and after I paid him for the organizers, he became hard to get ahold of. I would go a week or so and not hear from him, then he had an excuse, then finally they supposedly shipped. Well, finally I wrote him off, refunded the customer’s money and filed a dispute with Paypal.

According to Paypal, you cannot file a claim if it has been over 45 days from the date of purchase. This really sucks. All a person has to do is drag it out for 45 days, and he is off the hook! I hope they do something to better this service sometime soon, becasue it costs me over $100.

21 OctCredit Unions

Whatever happened to getting good deals and interest rates because you are a member of a credit union? It seems as though anymore, anyone can become a “member”. Also I can get better rates than my credit union at the bank up the street!

20 OctBattle of the Blogs – Battle for Blog Supremacy! – BlogExplosion.com

I was bored last night, so I went to www.blogexplosion.com. I have been listed on there for a while, but never really checked it out. After browsing around on there, I got into the Battle of the Blogs, where you bet “points” and challenge other blogs. People like you and me can vote on either blog and the winner will get a certain amount of these “points”. This is a clever way of generating some traffic to your blog, but I have to wonder it time would be better spent browsing the web for directories to list in. I spent at least an hour browsing other blogs and voting, only to lose the battle. I think my chances of winning would be much greater if I had a bit of nudity in my blog, something more appealing to the blog explosion viewers. However, I will not sell out!!!

20 OctProduct Review – Bostitch N88RH Heavy Duty Round Head Nailer

I purchased the Bostitch N88RH Heavy Duty Round Head Nailer from Amazon.com and after about a year of moderate use, I must say I am quite impressed. Purchasing online proved to be the easieast and least expensive. The nailer itself is heavy duty and seems to be built to last. This is a nailer that I highly recommend.
~~This Nailer is very comparable to the N80SB-1

19 OctButton Link

More and more bloggers are striving to clean up their blogs. After the “newness” wears off we tend to scale things back a bit. I plan on making a button link to my blog, maybe today to make it easier on those who link to me. It will also make the blogs appear to be less cluttered. I think have an area in the sidebar where people can just copy and paste into their own template. I would appreciate feedback on this idea!!!!

~~update~~

OK, I made the button….Here it is –

You can get the code in the sidebar…Please let me know what you think!

16 OctBook Review – The Rescue

Nicholas Sparks wrote this book and I’d have to give it a thumbs up! While it borderlines as being a “chic flick” book, I would still recommend it for everyone. I have read several of Nicholas Sparks’ other books and have ejoyed all of them.

15 OctTelevision Show Review: Ghost Hunters

I stumbled upon the show Ghost Hunters on the SciFi channel several months ago and I became instantly hooked. The “crew”(TAPS-The Atlantic Paranormal Society) are RotoRooter plumbers by day and go around the country and investigate alleged hauntings. They seem to be “real” and I think that’s what keeps me watching! I highly recommend this program.

15 OctAudio and Video Blogs

As I was strolling along Blogspot Lane, I noticed that some have the audio or video blog feature. While some would think this is an advancement in blogging, I disagree. I don’t think the bloggin’ world has patience for audio and video feeds to load up and play. While this is my personal opinion, I think I’m not alone in this. I like to pull up a blog and go!
