06 OctThe Blog-Hints.com Plug

As many of you know, I also run a website called www.blog-hints.com. I have made a button available to link from your blog. Any help promoting this site would be great! There is a blog directory that is free and does not require recip links, as well as a discussion forums.

I built this blog-hints button for people to add to their blogs instead of a text link. I kinda’ like the button better. Let me know what you think!!!Here is the code:

06 OctThe Downward Spiral

Ohio Governor Bob Taft reached a political milestone this week, and not one he should be happy about. His job approval rating dipped to a sorry 15%. After years of tax hikes, a worsening state economy, and now a new scandal, Bob Taft has managed to convince his political base to abandon him. His approval rating is less than President Nixon’s was after his impeachment. I have to wonder if his political career is over, or will he simply land somewhere else.

06 OctSavage Nation Crumbling?

Michael Savage announced on his broadcast last night that he plans to reinvent his show by bringing in a co-host. He also revealed that politics will no longer be the theme of his show. This took me by surprise. I really don’t think his show would survive being anything but politics. He has always been the alternative to right wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Lately he has been expressing his disgust with the Bush, but is he finally cracking up?

06 OctSomething Fishy in Alaska

Alaska Airlines unvealed a new paintjob on a Beoing 737, making the plane look like a giant salmon. This paintjob took nearly a month to complete, and cost roughly $500,000. I laughed about it until I heard that this paintjob was paid for by the American taxpayer. This is pork barrel spending at it’s finest! The official excuse is to promote the Alaskan fishing industry.

06 OctBaking Stones

When my wife told me she wanted to purchase some baking stones from The Pampered Chef, I was strongly against it. “We have plenty of cooking pans.” I told her. She talked me into it, and she bought several pieces. Well, that was about a year ago, and I wouldn’t want to cook with anything else! These stones are very easy to clean. In fact, you shouldn’t use soap on them, just scrape them off, give it a good wipe with a wet clean cloth and there you go! Since we’ve had them, they seem to get easier to clean, I guess becasue the oils that absorb in the stone. I would recommend these to anyone! They might cost a little more, but are well worth it!

UPDATE:11/28/05
Today, I decided to buy my wife another stone from Pampered Chef. She has it on her Christmas list. This is the rectangle stone. It measures 12×15 inches and does not have a rim. I also bought the metal rack for it. I am certain she will be pleased with it, as she is with all of her other cooking stones. I have even jumped on the stoneware bandwagon!

05 OctLooney Tunes

I was watching the news last night, and they were reporting on how Warner Brothers is looking to make some serious changes in their characters to keep up with newer cartoons(Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.) Buggs Bunny will no longer be the funny, grey and white bunny with a likable personality. He will be transformed into a shiny-black, evil looking super hero type rabbit with a deeper voice. He has an “evil” look to him. They plan to make him and Taz and the rest of the gang into some sort of crime fighting squad. I don’t like it.

05 OctCheeseburger in Paradise

While on vacation, we visited the Cheeseburge in Paradise restaurant in Indianapolis. The food was outstanding(but not diet friendly) and the service was exceptional. I was surprised at the cost, and in a good way. I recommend going early beacause it gets quite crowded there. I highly recommend this restaurant!

05 OctNon-Stick Cookware

For almost all of my adult life, I have owned non-stick cookware. I always thought it was essential. If you didn’t use the non-stick stuff, you would be at the sink for hours scrubbing your dinner. Well, several years ago, my brother bought me some stainless steel pots that get used almost daily. They still look relatively new and I don’t have much of a problem cleaning them either. More recently, My wife and I decided to replace our large non-stick skillet with a stainless steel one. It cooks very good and surprised to learn that it isn’t all that bad to clean. As long as you preheat the skillet and clean it good, it isn’t a problem. So, I would recommend paying a few extra dollars and getting a good, non-non-stick skillet. It will probably last many years longer than the regular non-stick kind.

05 OctHotspots

I was interested in finding out where wireless hotspots were in my area. You see them on TV, the people sitting around drinking coffee and surfing the internet. Well you can do a search at Hotspot Zone. Check it out!
