22 NovFeedburner is Spamming my Site!

OK, so I was checking my blog this morning, and out of the corner of my eye was this unfamiliar ad. My Feedburner button had turned into an ad! I would be very surprised if this was not a hack into the feedburner site. This is the first time I have seen something like this, so I had to screen shot it.

Update:
By the time I got this posted, they had corrected the problem. Quick rebound feedburner!!

21 NovNewscasters Don’t Know What They’re Talking About

newscaster photo
Something that really irritates me is when newscasters read their cue cards and can’t even act like they know what they’re talking about. For instance:

Tonight, on my local news, the anchorman was talking(reading) about Tony Stewart winning the Nascar Nextel Cup Championship yesterday. He went onto say that he won by 45 points, and that was one of the slimmest margins of victory ever for Nascar.

What he failed to realize, and mention, is that Nascar recently reworked their whole points structure so that after the “regular season” is over, all eligible racers’ points were reset to zero. If the newscaster watched one race the entire year he probably would have known this.

I don’t have a problem with the obvious fact that he isn’t a Nascar fan. That’s fine. But don’t act like you are, because you make an ass of yourself on TV when you do it!

21 NovAdd to Google

Perhaps you have noticed in the Bradsblog sidebar, in the feeds area, is a new button link for “Add to Google”. This is very similar to “Add to Yahoo”, in which you can customize your Google Homepage and have feeds stuck right on it. If you try it out, post a comment and let me know how it is!

21 NovBlog-Hints Blog

Tonight I created a new Blog-Hints Blog to post all blogging related material on. I am attempting to consolidate my posts here and be more narrow focused on the product reviews and rants.

21 NovThe Juice Box Debate

Juice Box Image
I was recently in a debate involving juice boxes that we give our kids for lunch. The question is, are they healthy? I really can’t answer that, you’d have to ask a nutritionist. All I am armed with is my opinion. However, thanks to the internet I can do a little bit of research. I compared three popular luch box bevereges, and posted my findings here. All three brands were of the same flavor – Fruit Punch.
Here’s the breakdown:

If you ask me, they all have a lot of sugar. So if it came down to it, I would go with the one that has 100% juice. Most brands offer varieties that contain 100% fruit juice.

21 NovWhere’s the Pork? Part I

This is part one of the Where’s the Pork Expose Series.

This Pork report is regarding Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-Mich.). Appearantly, he thinks it’s worth $2 million to conduct a Navy study to explore the use of “no flush” urinals. This was added to the fiscal 2006 Department of Defense Appropriations Act. What does this have to do with defense Mr. Ehlers?

21 NovJimmy Carter, You Had Your Chance.

Jimmy Carter Book photo
Think about it. Before George Bush was in office, I don’t recall any former President coming out publicly against a sitting President. Sine “W” took office, Jimmy Carter has shown his disapproval of the President’s policies many times. The peanut farmer even has a new book now. It’s called “Our Endangered Values: America’s Moral Crisis”. I have no intentions on reading this book. I read a review that reads very favorable to him. The review explains how since he had such a disastrous Presidency, he is now trying to rebuild his legacy by involving himself in international affairs and more obviously, criticizing the current administration.

20 NovZarqawi Killed in Raid?

Al Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Zarqawi may have been killed yesterday in a firefight in Mosul. Reports are unconfirmed at this point.
Update:
US Officials claim they have nothing to base this on other than they acted on a tip that claimed a high level “Al Qaeda in Iraq” leader was in the house. The reason the media thinks he may be killed is becasue a known terrorist website claims he was killed.

20 NovSoftware Review: Silktide Sitescore

I was reading on Lifehacker and he posted about a program called Sitescore. I tested it out and was quite impressed. Type in the URL of any website and it will conduct several tests to check how well put together that website is. This would be especially good if you own your own website or blog.

20 NovNext Week on Bradsblog

Here is what I have coming up on Bradsblog next week:

I am putting together a glossary of common blogging terms that I will publish here, as well as my Blog-Hints site.

I am continuing to work on my newsletter. I have it almost done, I just need to polish it up a little bit and make it presentable.

I am also working on putting together a new series called “Where’s the Pork?” where I will find pork barrel spending at it’s finest. I expect to launch this expose this week.

I also have a lot of other good stuff to unload via the blog!
