31 DecAnother Holiday Binge

I have entered another phase of my Hiliday binge. I had a good workout yesterday, and acheived pre-Christmas weight but blew it last night with dinner. To make matters worse, this morning we went to Frisch’s and I induged in the breakfast bar. Tonight we are going to a New Year’s Eve party, where I’m sure I will eat a lot of bad things.

30 DecLottery Ticket Chain Letter

My wife’s cousin sent her a chain letter this holiday season. She had all the good intentions.

Leave it to me to shoot down good intentions.

It’s the whole thought of chain letters that get to me.

Here’s how it went:

Cousin sent my wife a letter, talking about how the system works. Instead of sending money, you send instant lottery tickets.

If you don’t want to participate, she asks that you send the lottery ticket back.

This was all fine and dandy, but hat happens when the chain letter crosses state lines? Now if the recipient finds a winning ticket, they have to claim it by mail.

Is this going overboard in the do-gooder department? Or am I just being a grinch.

30 DecProduct Review – Plastic Poker Cards

Kem Poker Wide Playing Cards Double Deck - Jumbo Indicies
The last couple of time I played Poker, my brother brought over these “plastic” playing cards. I had never used these before. I had always used the traditional Bicycle playing cards, and they had always worked out just fine. It had always been acceptable to throw the cards away after they get worn out (several hours of play) and just break open a new pack.

The plastic cards are just that. Plastic. They never wear out, fade, crumble, crease, etc. The look like regular cards. They cost a little more, but you can get them on sale on Ebay or Amazon’s Poker Supplies.

If I am on your gift list in the future, this wold be a great gift idea for me!

30 DecPoker Night – The Conclusion

What was was planned on being a simple poker game between brothers, turned into a major shin-dig. Everyone and their brother showed up, and it turned into a surprise birthay party for my son’s 4th birthday. It was nice(Thank’s Mom) We played cards all night, took breaks to sing Happy Birthday and open birthday gifts. There was tons of food there, and I killed the chili!

The net result of the poker game, fininacially speaking, was pointless. What would normally net gain/loss of possibly a couple of hundred dollars, ended up being a net loss of nine bucks. This incuded the first bout of Texas Hold ‘em.

30 DecProduct Review – Sable Titanium Ring sa9

titanium ring image

Tonight I am starting my first of ten reviews on Titanium rings. I will be conducting these reviews based on information I gather from images and the websites, as made available to me.

The first in this series is the Sable Titanium Ring sa9.

This ring comes in three different inside finishes: Polished, Matte and Satin.

The outside has a sable finish.

Rings can be sized to order for virtually any size you might wear, and if you arent sure, they will send you a sizer.

By looking at the pictures available, this is a very elegant looking ring.

Ordering from the Tirings.com website, you can research the ring further, as well as specify engraving information.

This ring has a list price of $279 but is listed now for $139.

I must admit, I have never been in the market for a titanium piece of jewelry, after doing this review I might be willing to consider such a purchase. The Sable finish ring has a certain basic, yet modern style that I like. You can get more information on this ring here.

29 DecPoker Night Update

After the first round, I am shamed to annonce I am the first one out. We are getting ready to start the next round, and I would hope I do a little bit better!

29 DecHot Sauce

hotsauce bottle
Last night, I brought some TVP Chili into work to have for lunch. I normally enjoy some Franks hot sauce, or a custom blend that my father in law mixes up every year.

Tonight, I was disappointed to find my hot sauce bottle in the refrigerator at work completely empty. Someone decided to finish it off for me.
Fortunately for me, there was another kind in there that I had not experienced before.

It’s called Pyro Mania and it’s made by Garden Row Foods, inc.

The consistency was much thicker than those I was used to, and there were chunks of peppers in it. I couldn’t help buyt notice the heat that was packed in this stuff. It’s pretty doggone hot!

Anyway, there was a unique flavor with this. I liked it. I recommend this hot sauce!

29 DecLittle Red Roadster

Little Red Roadster
This morning I assembled my youngest son’s Christmas gift from Grandma. It’s a Little Red Roadster, and is a Radio Flyer product.

This riding toy took all of about ten minutes to assemble and he absoutley loves it.

This is a good introduction to the concept of riding a bike.

I would recommend buying this for young children. My son is 15 months old and it is perfect for him.

29 DecI need internet!

OK, I’m at work typing this post up, but I don’t have internet. This sucks.

I have email at work, but internet is a no-no. I am really itching to get some sort of internet anywhere connection for my laptop. Typing posts up in emails then sending them to myself is not cutting it.

This would allow me to blog a great deal more at work and enable me to spend more time at home doing the really important things (site development, blog research, oh yeah, the family too!)

I’m going to put out a blog signal….If you know of a service that I can get internet through my cellphone, or something like that, please post here!

29 DecAm I a Grinch?

grinch image
I have always known that you should wait until New Years to take down your Christmas Tree. This year, we took our stuff down last night. We have a lot going on this weekend so we probably won’t have time, and we really have a great desire to get our house back in order.

We still have our green rope lights out around the front porch, and the green twinkle lights in the shrubs in the front. These are coming down today or tomorrow, then our house will be back to normal.

Am I a grinch for bailing out of the holiday season early?

I don’t think so.

BAHHHH!!!!
