21 DecWebsite Review – Dclassifieds.com

Today I’m taking a look at www.dclassifieds.com, which is an online classified ad publisher. This is an interesting site, because you can browse local classified ads from anywhere in the country.

I checked out the classified for Butler County, Ohio (where I live) and I found 50 pages of classified ads.

It had them all in there, everything from pets to services to automobiles for sale.

I also learned that you can post an ad for free. I went ahead and posted an ad and if I get any response, I will be sure to update this post.

Aside from the classified ads to view, there is an online discussion board as well. These forums appear have a very broad range of topics. Subjects range from music to pets, and a whole lot more.

This is a site I will pobably visit again. If not to post my own ad, but to read others.

If there is one thing that might make this site a little bit better, it would be to have the internet ads fed through RSS so that they can be viewed in my news aggregator.

21 DecControl the Children!

please control your children image
Do you know what really chaps me off? It’s the parents that are too afraid to discipline their children, for whatever reason and make everyone else around them pay for it.

I’m sure you’ve seen them in the grocery store. They’re the ones tht are screaming and crying for candy or cookies and the mother is oblivious to the entire situation. Her handling of it tells me that this is a usual ocurrance.

They should pass a law that allows frustrated bystanders like me to discipline the children AND the parents of these bratty kids.

21 DecSenator Ted Stevens is the King of Pork

The democrat from Alaska has once again struck pork. He is the guy who is putting ANWR drilling in the defense spending bill. This time, I agree with him. It will be interesting to see how this pans out!

21 DecHoliday Stress

Since I have been off work from my real job several days now, my stress level has reached full capacity.

I’ll be so glad when all this is over.

I still have a couple of people to buy gifts for, and a ton of gifts to wrap. I also need to assemble this motorized Harley Davidson motorcycle we bought for my son.

On top of all that, I need to finish the electrical in my basement(building a playroom) and finish getting ready to paint. I am up against the clock, but I will not sacrifice my blogging time!

I don’t understand why my wife has been griping at me all week!

Let me go back to work!

20 DecTexas Hold ‘Em Ripoff Artists.

Jason has an interesting post about rip-off artists taking advantage of do-gooders by raking Texas Hold ‘em tournaments over the coals.

20 DecNotable Blog – Iniardwatch

This week’s notable blog is going to be Iniardwatch. For a blogger blog, it’s not bad. In fact he seems to have some really good posts when he actually posts. He is currently running a series on “Designed for Christmas” items. These are junk items that are conveniently prices to fit into a certain Christmas gift budget.

20 DecWebsite Review – Idolme.com

American Idol fans, I’ve got the site for you! www.idolme.com is a discussion board that is focused on the different seasons of American Idol.

In addition to the different seasons you can talk about with other enthusiasts, there is also a forum devoted to the finalists fan clubs.

In the “other Idols” forum category, there are forums for Canadian Idol, Australian Idol and NZ Idol.

In the Idol Me Lounge, you have the ability to share pics, discuss upcoming events, or anything else you wish to share.

You don’t have to register to view and read posts, butin order to take part in the discussion you are required to register. Registration is free.

As I was gearing up to finish the review, I happened to check out the links in the header and discovered there is an American Idol Blog associated with this site, so I checked it out.

The blog is called IdolNews – American Idol Information, and seems to keep you current on the latest and greatest news on American Idol matters.

While I’m not a big Idol kind of guy, I can see where people who flock to this show would enjoy this site.

20 DecSoftware Review – AudioEdit Deluxe

audio edit deluxe image
I took a look at AudioEdit Deluxe tonight. I downloaded the trial version from the Mystik Media site.

This program appears to be very sophisticated, and was obviously written for users who know what they’re doing. AudioEdit Deluxe gives you the ability to manipulate audio files of many different file formats.

From a layman’s standpoint, you pull up a music or audio file, then you can play the whole thing or a small part of it.

You can also cut a small piece out of it, fade in, fade out, insert noise insert silence. These are just a few of the editing features I saw.

I also learned that you can input audio from a microphone, or other input device and record with this program.

For the more technical user, there are several filtering option to choose from.

My recommendation is that for the regular user like me, this might be a bit overkill for everyday audio needs. However, if you’re a person who does audio file manipulation, you should take a look at this software.

20 DecWebsite Review – Thetraintraveler.com

train traveller logo
Thetraintraveler.com is a very unique website that is built around train travel. While I have never traveled via train, I still find the site quite interesting.

There is really nothing much to the main page, other than servicing as a portal to the rest of the site.

After landing at the featured Destinations page you can select from a variety of different destinations. You can then read about your destination as well as gather information about planning your trip.

First time travelers might find the Q&A page useful. It answers many common questions.

The Hints and tips page is a must read. It incudes several little good to know tidbits that you might not otherwise think about when riding a train.

There are several more different areas to explore on this site, including book reviews, editorials and more.

While I might never need this site, if you are planning a trip on a train, you should check this site out.

20 DecWebsite Review – Stock-market-idea.com

Here is another blog that is based on the financial world. More specifically, it is a stock market investment blog.

My first impression of the site was that I thought it was new. This is because I went to the bottom of the page and that was it. The first post appeared to be in November, 2005.

However, as I explored the site I realized there was much more to it. I discovered the archives and this site has been putting out investing wisdom since January, 2004.

There are several different categories, including:
Bonds
Economics
ETF and mutual fund ideas
Personal finance
Real Estate
Resources
Stocks

The author of this blog posts articles about the stocks he is watching, buying and selling.

If you are a stock market watcher, this site might be worth looking into.
