23 JanWebsite Review – Factsjokesnfun.com

Factsjokesnfun.com is a good website to visit if you’re bored, or just want a good laugh.

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to navigate this site. It seems to be split up into several seperate sections.
Jokes
Funny Pictures
Facts
TV and Movie Reviews
News of the Wierd
Famous Quotes
Celebrity Pictures
Funny Ads
Funny Videos
Funny Sounds Clips

I could probably dissect this site all day, but I won’t. Each of the sections is further broken down into seperate categories, so you can narrow in on wat you want.

There is a wide array of different jokes, pictures and videos on here, and they seem to be all free.

By far, my favorite part if this website is the body art images. I often get these in emails, but am glad there is a site I can go to look at them.

I think another good feature of this site is that you can rate the jokes, and you can also submit some of your own.

23 JanWebsite Review – Financenewstoday.com

The next website in my review series is a website that claims to be the home of your personal finance. They offer many articles ranging from insurance to college loan information and a lot more.

I dropped into the insurance area, and found a surplus of insurance resources. Auto, home, life, you name it. They seem to cover it all. They even offer free rate quotes.

In the Real Estate area, you will find articles like “Choosing a Real Estate Agent” and “Guide to buying a home“.

The Debt and Credit section offers many resources related to personal debt and credit, including articles and calculators. I especially liked the Accelerated Debt Payoff Calculator.

Any traditional investing plan can be researched on this site as well. I am impressed with the amount of information that is packed within this website.

Finally, in the college section you will find a lot of information about college loans, 529 plans and college funding calculators.

Whether you’re a seasoned investor, or a student curious about how you will pay for college, this is an excellent website to check out.

23 JanWebsite Review – Cheetahfind.com

The next website I’ll review is called Cheetah Find.

Cheetahfind seems to be a website that serves the general public, but is also built for those who build websites. It serves as a one stop shop for a lot of things webmasters need.

I will review this site from a webmasters point of view.

The first area I’ll look at is the directories. There are categories for just about any topic you might imagine. The pages are clean and aren’t cluttered with ads. This is the advantage of charging $14.95 for a submission. Reciprocal links are free.

Moving on the the templates area of this site, they offer a wide variety of web templates that are free to download. They do require a valid email address prior to downloading.

If you are in need of images or clip art for your site, Cheetahfind offers a large variety of pictures free for download.

Free hit counters are available as well. Simply enter what theme you would like, the number you would like to start off with, and a couple of other small details and a code is generated for you to plug into your website.

I would recommend this site to anyone who is new at web design and might not have a lot of resources already in place.

23 JanWebsite Review – Tritonnutrition.com

triton fitness logo
Serious about fitness? If you are, you might find the site www.tritonnutrition.com useful.

I was glad to review this site, because I am in the looking for an alternative to GNC stores to buy some Protein powder, as well as L-Glutamine.

Triton Nutrition appears to carry product from about a hundred different manufacturers and lists products in several different categories.

If you aren’t sure about a product and would like to learn more about it, there are pull down menus in the sidebar that will allow you to select a supplement you are curious about. Once selected, you will be directed to another page that decribes that supplement.

I selected zinc and learned what the benefits were, as well as dosage information.

To make ordering from this site easy, they offer a shopping cart system. They also have an area devoted to tracking your order.

I will be making a purchase of my protein powder and L-Glutamine later this month, and I will be revisiting this site when ready. They seem to offer deeper discounts than I have seen elsewhere.

23 JanWebsite Review – Onlinediscountmart.com

This morning I got the chance to review onlinediscountmart.com.

My first thought when I arrived here was that it specialized in selling discounted Garden Gnomes. I was partially right.

Not only do they sell Garden Gnomes, but they also sell just about every kind of garden decoration you could possibly want. They even sell windmills!

Moving past the product categories, I found that this site offers a craft ideas page, where you can learn how to make a gourd birdhouse, or a wreath.

In the gardening tips area, you can learn great tips on gardening on a budget, or gardening with children. There are dozens of helpful articles here.

My overall impression of this site was that it was put together well, easy to navigate and provided some very useful information. The fact that they offer for sale virtually any garden decor you would want to buy makes it a site a gardener should take a look at.

23 JanWebsite Review – Tvproducts4less.com

tv products for less image
The next website I’ll be reviewing is called www.tvproducts4less.com and they specialize in products that are sold on TV infomercials.

The site claims to offer these products at discounts from the regular sale price. I decided to take a look around and see for myself.

The first item I checked out was the Hands Free Hair Dryer Stand. I chose this product because I purchased one of these for my mother last year for Christmas. I think I paid about $30.00 for it. They are offering it up for sale here for $14.95.

I went on to check on about a dozen other products and the results varied greatly. Some of the products offered very small discounts, but a great majority of them were significant.

Of the products I visited, the biggest discount I noticed was the Smoke Alleve smoking cessation program, regular priced at $149.95, offered here $69.95.

This site offers products in 17 different categories, ranging from home organization to beauty products.

This site is set up with a shopping cart system as well as a 1-800 number, so ordering is hassle free. It appears as though you can track your orders as well.

21 JanWebsite Review – Happyhourpub.com

happy hour pub image

Today, I’ll review the discussion forum called www.happyhourpub.com.

I have been a part of a lot of different different discussion boards, but I have never been to one quite like this.

Before you even get to the thread categories, you see a shoutbox, that is basically a chat room. This takes the wait out of posting in a thread and waiting for a reply.

In the actual forums, there are forums that focus on anything related to a bar scene. There are forums focusing on topics from the jukebox, comedy, games and more!

In my opinion, the best part of this site is the drinks menu. This area serves as a resource to find the recipe for your favorite drink.

From what I have seen here, the people all seem to be friendly with one another, and in in general a fun place to hang out. If you’re looking for a little conversation over a cold one, you might try the pub.

20 JanWatch The Alaskan Pipeline!

alaskan oil pipeline
After Usama Bin Laden warned the world of more attacks yesterday, an Al Qaeda affilliate is now calling for attacks on the American oil pipelines in and around Alaska.

This could be a nightmare scenario for the US economy.

If the oil from Alaska is disrupted, and Iran starts screwing around with their oil, what will that do to oil prices and the US economy?

20 JanWebsite Review – Dictionaryofwords.com

Today, I’m giving a review of the online dictionary and thesaurus website called www.dictionaryofwords.com.

When I first arrived at the homepage of this site, I decided to click around and get a feel for the site. I entered some random words in the search bar, and the program returned the pronounciation and definitions of the words from three different sources including:

1. The Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48
2. WordNet (r) 2.0
3. Moby Thesaurus II by Grady Ward, 1.0

Included in the query results were thesaurus matter as well.

Displayed after the definitions was a list of web search results for the defined word.

I then entered another word. This time, the sources that defined the word were not the same as the previous search. I like how it pulls definitions from different sources.

Another feature with this site is it’s abiltity do display everything in Spanish or English.

There are tabs for searching Images, Videos, MP3/Audio, Directory and News.

I did searches under all these tabs, and basically your search results begin with the definition of the word entered, followed by web content including that key word related to the specified tab selected.

This website took a little bit of getting used to. However, I like it. I’m not sure if it will replace my current methods of checking definitions of words, but this is a good resource.

19 JanAxis of Evil part II

As I stated in my post about the new axis of evil, I was afraid of the time when Iran got into the mix. Now, the Iranian President is visiting with Syria. Welcome to the mix.
