10 FebNew Web Directory

blog listings logo
Well, I’ve been busy with another pet project of mine. Since I dismantled the Blog-Hints site a while ago, I decided that I should have a new site devoted entirely to blog listings. Listing your blog in directories such as these can greatly increase yur pagerank and ultimately increase traffic to your blog.

This new directory I made is for blogs and blog related sites only. I encourage you to take a look, and since it is very new I am not charging for submissions. Once I have established this site and loaded it with listings, adding new links will no longer be free.

If you want to add your link, simply follow the site, it’s quite simple.

For best results, provide a good description!

I welcome all comments and appreciate feedback. If you like the site, please link to it!

The Name of the site is Blog Listings

08 FebMy Cry for Help

I have decided to write some government officials and news outlets expressing my concern over the expansion of the Axis of Evil. I hope you help me spread the word! Here is the text of the letter I have sent out.

Dear select government officials and news outlets,

I am writing to express my concerns over the recent global developments, which started with the election of anti-American demagogue Evo Morales in Bolivia. Since his election, it seems all the top leaders of the countries that despise America the most have been meeting (Bolivia, Cuba, China, Iran and Syria). My concerns have grown significantly now that Iran has entered the mix and are in pursuit of nuclear weapons.

I have been publishing developments as I see them to my blog, located at www.bradsblog.net. I have not seen much, if any news coverage about this story.

I hope I am overreacting.

Thank You,
Brad Schneider

I will continue to send this to more people/institutions as I compile a list of email address and contact forms.

So far, I have sent my message to the following:
Senator George Voinovich

If you have any others I am missing and you think should be added, please post them here.

08 FebThe Axis of Evil is Still Growing!!!!!

As I mentioned in the first post about the Axis of Evil:

It seems all of America’s favorites are meeting up to discuss “issues”. I would sure like to be a fly on the wall when they all sit down together, as does the Bush administration.

When they start getting together with Iran and Syria, I don’t think it will be ignored anymore.

Are they planning something? Or am I just reaching.

As reported on the Drudge Report, the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has accepted an invitation to Cuba to visit with Fidel Castro. Read the full article here. Would Fideal be willing to part nukes in cuba? Will this lead to another Cuban missile crisis?

I’m not sure there’s anything else I can do as an individual, other than to keep watching it and hope the word spreads. I have a really bad feeling about this.

I have also decided to add an Axis of Evil category to this blog. You can find the category links in the sidebar. I have also started a new thread for open discussion in the forums about it.

07 FebWebsite Review – Self-help.vocaboly.com

The next website review I’m going to do is located at http://self-help.vocaboly.com and I think I need to split this review up into two seperate parts. The first part being layout, and the second being content.

The site itself is focused on self help and is descibed as Self Help and Personal Development Resource.

Layout
My first impression of this website was “Nice blog, when are you going to develop it?”. The site is set up in WordPress blog format, and uses the default theme. I find it a bit generic.

There are a lot of categories, which I like.

I also couldn’t help but notice there is a TON of wasted space in the sidebar.

Checking the archives, they only go back two months so I am forced to assume that this site is still under development. I’ll give the layout issues a pass and maybe check back in a few months.

Content
Moving on past the layout, the content of this site is much better. Like I mentioned in the layout section, there are a lot of different categories related to self help. (I counted 22 categories) Many of the categories contain several articles, but the Parenting category contains 54 interesting articles!

Another good feature of this site is that is offers it’s articles for syndication, so you can pull new articles directly into your news feeder.

Summary
If you can bear the plain look of this site, you can really find some good articles here. I think given a little bit of time this really could turn into something good.

07 FebJimmy Carter, Shut the Hell up!

Jimmy the peanut farmer is once again making an ass of himself, saying that George W. Bush is violating the law with the wire tapping issue. I guess he forgot that he did the same thing when he was taking up space in the White House.

He is also welcoming Hamas with open arms, saying that he was told by Hamas that they want peace. He believes them. According to Hamas, there will be peace in the region once Israel is removed.

Once again Jimmy Carter- you had your chance, you blew it, now sit down and shut up.

05 FebThe Superbowl “Souled Out”

This is the post that many will call me a racist for writing.

I sat through the pre-game show, but decided I had enough when the Star Spangled Banner turned into gospel hour. What is a white man supposed to watch?

Don’t get me wrong I understand they are trying to show the history of Detroit, but this is the Superbowl! Put someone up there that we all want to see.

I also noticed the special moment of silence for Rosa Parks and the late Mrs. King. Wasn’t there anyone else that died this year that might deserve a mention? Maybe the troops who were killed in Iraq?

This degree of political correctnes has me a bit pissed off.

05 FebSuperbowl!

Well, I’m sittin ghere in my remote office, gearing up to watch the Superbowl. I’m not a big fan of either team, but I have to pull for the Steelers.

04 FebOnline with T-Mobile

Well, it’s official. I signed up with T-Mobile for a new data plan using the Sony Ericsson Air Card.

I went to the local retail store this morning, and appreciated the excellent service. All of my questions were answered, and after about $300 I was out the door.

Once I got to my “remote office” I fired it up. Setup was pretty easy, just install the software and plug the card in. The only iffy part was I’m not sure about which profile to use. I can select the “T-Mobile” or “T-Mobile VPN”. I was only able to connect using VPN so I asume it’s the one I want. I’ll be severely pissed if I’m being billed .20 cents a minute for this.

As far as the connection, it’s a bit of culture shock getting used to the higher speed. I am learning that I cannot fire up 20+ webpages on my Firefox browser, I need to scale way back. The connection speed I believe is about as good as a faster dial up speed. Maybe 56k.

Anyway, I’m on it right now and it seems to work well.

This service is costing me about $30 a month and will probably hang with it for a while.

03 FebThe Lingerie Bowl

lingerie bowl
There is now an alternative to watching Janet Jackson flash her nipples during the NFL Superbowl halftime show. Now you can watch the Lingerie Bowl.

There are supermodels dressed as skimpy as possible playing full contact football. I’m not sure what channel it is scheduled to be on, but I’ll be sure to tune in.

I don’t know about you, but I just can’t get into the musical lipsynching that normally takes place in the half time shows.

03 FebNukes in Iran

I’ve been watching the Iranian Nuke situation pretty close and it looks like Iran has decided to take the same course Iraq did. I can’t remember what the term was that Presisent Bush used, (something and retreat?)

They seem to agree to something, then act all pissed off and back off on that, blame everyone else and go back into full production.

So now, there is expected to be a vote to refer them to the UN security council for sanctions. All I can think of is so what. What is that going to do?

I personally think military action is immenent.
