[...] I was quite skepticle at first, because we have tried the whole “dog thing” in the past and things just didn’t work out. I think this will be different. We are all at different places in our lives and unlike the last dog we tried, this time the whole family is onboard with it. We are now also armed with the book that Tom and Mariah gave us.
Responsible ownership is a must, there are just too many dogs in the pound.

It's like that famous quote: I like other people's children, especially when they cry, because then I can give them back.

The biggest question is: is mum and dad ready for the complete responsibility of a non-puppy? walking, feeding, cleaning... the kids get puppy fever and fervently promise to walk the dog everyday, feed it, wash it brush it, but really it's the parents who do it.

Having a dog can be one of the most rewarding things though.
