How long has it been since they decided to shut down that oil pipeline in Alaska for repairs? I remember paying nearly $2.90 for a gallon of gas then, and there was word that gas prices would skyrocket even further.
This morning on my way home from work, my local gas station had regular unleaded for $2.10.
I realize that the government opened up some of the strategic reserves, but I have to wonder if the drop in prices has anything to do with the upcoming elections. What do you think?

Thats is a good theory. In a matter of one day, I saw regular drop from $2.98 down to $2.69. Primary is over, bet it goes back up

I think the Republicans are feeling pressure and this may be a stunt to retain power.

I’ve absolutely no factual proof on this, but I would be willing to bet dollars to donuts that the gas prices will stay low through the November elections.

Summae, I agree with you. I would bet a jelly filled donut against your Krispy Creme glazed that the price of a gallon of regular unleaded will drop under 1.90 before the elections in November.

While, I’m no fan of conspiracies you could be right. It does seem a little strange. People seem to be in a better mood when gas prices are lower.
