Traveling can be hazardous to your diet

Recently on a trip to Indianapolis to visit some friends of the family, I found it very difficult to eat properly. I think it is natural when away from home or on vacation to eat out. Whether it be eating at a restaurant, or ordering pizza, either way it can be disastrous if you are trying to watch what you eat.

While I don’t claim to be an expert in this field, it has been my experience that the best thing you can do in these situations is be prepared.

Bring snacks along you know you can eat. I like to bring rice cakes and Crystal Light. I can eat this and keep from getting too hungry. That way, when it comes to eating out I don’t find myself binging on the wrong stuff.

When eating out, do the best you can. It can be next to impossible to eat right at any given restaurant, but more and more restaurants are adding weight watcher items to their menus.

Don’t stress about it. Try to remember, if you do blow your diet, there is always tomorrow. You will not get fat by eating wrong for a day. You get fat from eating wrong all the time.
