I was browsing through the archives over at Iniard Watch and found an interesting article about congress spending a lot of time on things such as professional sports, steroids, etc. While I agree these are imprtant topics, I think there are far more important issues in front of us that need to be moved up on the priority list. Last month, after the nomination of Samuel Alito for the position of Supreme Court Justice was announced, the senate decided that there was no time to hold confirmation hearings.
They seem to have plenty of time bashing George Bush about te war in Iraq or voting themselves a pay raise. What about getting something done with Social Security? What the heck is going on down there?
