This is part one of the Where’s the Pork Expose Series.
This Pork report is regarding Rep. Vernon Ehlers (R-Mich.). Appearantly, he thinks it’s worth $2 million to conduct a Navy study to explore the use of “no flush†urinals. This was added to the fiscal 2006 Department of Defense Appropriations Act. What does this have to do with defense Mr. Ehlers?

I don’t defend pork, but what if the Navy spends 50 million dollars a year to flush urinals. This would come out of the defense budjet. I would say spending 2 million to try and save some of the 50 million would be worth consideration.

Having spent ten years in the Navy, I know that the Navy uses seawater to flush urinals(on ships of course). I am sure there are better was to spend the money.
