I was reading a comment on Nektros.com where Chris from purplepig.net said:
“So why do they call them Podcasts? I know its all related to iPod’s but nowadays iPod’s have nothing to do with them”
This brings up a interesting point.I have recrded a coupe of podcasts now, and I listen to a few also. However, I do not listen to blog podcasts on my iPod. When I come across a podcast, I want to hear it right now. The only podcast I listen to on my iPod is Dave Ramsey.
Come to think of it, I don’t know of anybody who listens to blog podcasts on their iPod!
Maybe they should call them something else, like blogcast!

With growing popularity of the Ipod, Podcasts where handed out as an attempt to make you either pay for programming or listen to commercials(on your Ipod).
If you don’t have time to listen to a podcast, download it on your Ipod and listen as you cut the grass or work out.

Brad,
What’s nice about iPods and podcast, is being able to “download” your podcast (automatically), giving the millions of Americans who commute to work everyday by train, carpool, bus, etc something to listen to while they are on the move. For the suburbinite, yea, probably something you can do while cutting the grass

I guess since I am a suburbanite, and am content with listening to AM radio in my car, I only listen to my iPod while exercising ,cleaning, etc.
